I started playing with computers back in 1982, with a Commodore VIC20, and the stuff that that machine would do with only 3583 bytes of memory astounded me.
After that it was a PC-XT (thanks, Anne) and only about three more PCs since the mid-90s or so. I have a tendency to keep computers for too long.
About 10 years ago I started working in the service department at Computer City (remember them?) and haven’t looked back since. I got my Microsoft Certified System Engineer designation, along with my A+ Hardware tech certification, and I’ve been playing with the things ever since.
My current gig is for a manufacturer of wireless internet equipment, and I help out on a Yahoo group for computer support when I get the time. In the meantime, though, I decided to start WindowsNotes simply because a lot of the support and tutorials I find online are either too simplistic, or way over the user’s head. It’s my goal to not do that.
